Car Insurance
Ryno specialises in prestige, classic and enthusiast vehicles. This may include selected luxury, performance, classic or collectible cars, as well as some modified vehicles where they fit within our insurer panel’s appetite.
Examples may include classic Ford and Holden models, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and similar enthusiast-style vehicles. A vehicle is not automatically considered an enthusiast vehicle simply because it has modifications. Everyday imports, standard commuter vehicles and modified 4WDs may fall outside our insurer panel’s focus, which means we may not be able to source suitable cover.
Modifications can affect the premium because they may increase repair costs, replacement-part costs or the need for specialist labour at claim time. Depending on the type and extent of the modifications, the insurer may apply a loading to the base premium.
If your car has been modified, the modifications must be disclosed when requesting cover. This allows the insurer to assess the vehicle accurately and confirm whether the modifications can be accepted and covered.
Yes. The cover available through our insurer panel generally allows you to choose your own repairer. Before repairs begin, your chosen repairer’s quote must be submitted to the insurer and approved by their claims team.
Ryno arranges comprehensive insurance and laid-up cover through insurers who understand enthusiast-style vehicles. These policies are designed for vehicles that may not fit neatly within a standard car insurance policy.
- Agreed value options, supported by insurer assessment and vehicle information such as photos where required
- Acceptance and cover for disclosed modifications, where approved by the insurer
- Salvage rights for eligible vehicles, which may allow customers to retain the salvage after a total loss depending on the vehicle age and policy terms
- Choice of repairer, giving customers the option to use a trusted specialist workshop subject to insurer approval
If you need to make a claim, call Ryno and select the claims option to be connected with our claims team. We will send you the relevant claim form, help lodge the claim with the insurer, and guide you through the process from start to finish.
Our team will follow up with the insurer, repairer and any other relevant parties to help keep the claim moving and make sure the right information is provided.
Ryno generally does not focus on standard commuter vehicles, everyday business-use vehicles or vehicles that fall outside our insurer panel’s enthusiast and specialist appetite. Examples may include vehicles such as a Toyota Camry or Mazda 3, vehicles used primarily for business, or imported vehicles that are not considered enthusiast-style vehicles.
When choosing cover, consider the benefits that matter most at claim time. This may include agreed value, salvage rights, choice of repairer, whether modifications are accepted, and how the vehicle is used.
The choice is yours, but working with Ryno means you have a small, connected team helping you through the process. You can call us during business hours or email your request if that is easier, and our team will respond as soon as possible.
When you contact Ryno, you will speak with a team that communicates regularly and works together to achieve the best possible outcome for clients. We understand enthusiast vehicles and enjoy speaking with people who care about their cars.
Ryno is a small team made up mostly of Australian-based brokers, supported by qualified offshore brokers. Every team member is trained and able to assist with enquiries and policy changes.
The best place to start is by completing our online quote form. We aim to turn quotes around within 24 hours where possible, excluding weekends and public holidays.
Drivers under 25 are generally not eligible for cover through our insurer panel. Some vehicles may also have stricter driver-age requirements, including policies where all drivers must be aged 30 or over, regardless of driving experience.
Yes. Ryno offers a monthly payment option through FlexiFund, allowing eligible customers to pay their premium over 10 instalments.
Please note that interest and administration fees may apply. If you used FlexiFund last year, this payment option may continue automatically at renewal unless you advise us otherwise.
Truck
Insurance
Truck Insurance
Truck insurance is designed for transport operators and businesses that use trucks as part of their operations. It protects commercial vehicles, helping cover accidental loss, damage, or theft costs. If you own a truck or manage a fleet, this type of insurance is essential to protect your business vehicles.
What does a truck insurance policy cover?
A typical insurance policy for trucks may cover damage to your truck, third-party property damage, and downtime cover if your truck can't be used. We also offer insurance solutions that include window glass coverage, damage to work tools, and liability protection.
We offer commercial vehicle insurance that can be customised to cover trucks carrying dangerous goods. It’s crucial to disclose the nature of the cargo to ensure you have the proper protection.
Our commercial vehicle insurance can be tailored to cover mobile cranes and plants, depending on your business needs. We understand the unique risks associated with these commercial vehicles and provide the necessary coverage.
With an agreed-value policy, you and the insurer agree on the truck’s value at the start of the policy. In the event of a total loss, you’ll be paid this agreed amount. It provides certainty and peace of mind, especially for high-value commercial vehicles like a prime mover.
Downtime cover helps minimise the impact on your cash flow by covering lost income when your truck is off the road due to a covered incident. This ensures your business can keep running smoothly, even during repairs.
We insure various business vehicles, including delivery trucks, trailers, heavy-duty trucks, and light commercial vehicles. Our business car insurance can also cover vehicles used for day-to-day business operations.
Yes, our policies can include coverage for work tools. If your work tools are stolen or damaged, we make sure you have the protection needed to minimize disruptions.
Yes, it’s essential to provide accurate details about your truck’s carrying capacity and registration number when setting up your commercial motor cover. This ensures your vehicle insurance accurately reflects your business needs.
Having criminal convictions doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t get truck insurance. However, it may affect the terms of your insurance policy. We’ll work with you to find the right possible coverage options.
The basic excess is the amount you agree to pay out of pocket if you make a claim. Choosing a higher basic excess can lower your premium, but it means paying more in the event of a claim.
Yes, we offer liability insurance as part of our commercial motor insurance solutions, which protects you from financial losses if your truck causes damage or injury to a third party.
